Blogging Pro: use the WordPress forums, or Google, or WP Questions

Blogging Pros gives us a mention, and I think sums up people’s choices ideally:

The number one place should, of course be the WordPress forums. Do search before you post.

WordPress + keywords / errors in Google. No brainer.

WP Question; a paid solutions for your WordPress questions.

WordPress Help Center; another paid solution for your WordPress questions.

The WordPress Help Center, from what I can tell, charges $500 or more a quarter, so it is not so much focused on answering particular questions, it is more like having a WordPress expert on call, which is a fairly traditional arrangement that a lot of websites have.

The other options are Twitter, the WordPress support forums and Google. And then there is WP Questions. I do think that if people have the time and inclination to track down their answer on Google, then that is what they should do. It is only those people who are in a rush, or who lack the technical skill to appreciate what they might find via Google, who might instead wish to use WP Questions. For people who need information urgently, WP Questions is ideal.
