As a software engineer, you will be responsible for developing solutions that meet the needs of SilkStart’s entreprise customers. You will be responsible for both implementing new features and enhancing existing SilkStart API for 3rd party developers.
Key Responsibilities
Build (design, code, test) web-based applications, including front-end (user interfaces) and back end.
Drive deploy and test process
Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods of the SilkStart platform
QualificationBS/MS in Computer Science or related field/degree, and/or equivalent work experience
Strong object oriented programming and design skills.
Fluency in at least one of the following: Python, Perl, or Ruby
Familiarity with basic UNIX server configuration, and Shell.
Excellent SQL or PL/SQL programming skills are required for some positions
Expertise in data structures, data mining, algorithms and complexity analysis
Ability to handle periodic oncall duty as well as out-of-band requests
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Solid knowledge of development methodologies and project life cycles
Additional Success FactorAbility and desire to learn new skills and take on new tasks
Familiarity with JQuery, MongoDB, and Mac OS X development environment
Familiarity with iPhone/iPad development
Familiarity with Social Media and the success factors for a multimedia social network
